Dear Parents,
At this time, I would like to
take this opportunity to impress upon all those responsible for their
children's education and the importance of parents setting the example of
Christian living using Mary and St. Joseph as a guide for loving parenthood
and, in that regard it is also essential that parents and others responsible
for their children set a good example by taking the children to Mass on the
weekends. The Eucharist is the heart and center of our Catholic life.
The Eucharist is a celebration called the Mass that recalls the Last Supper.
It is the be best way to express our faith and share in the saving grace of
Christ.
It is of the utmost importance
that children start and complete Religious Ed. classes each year. The
classes start with Grade 1 and extend through Confirmation #1 (Grade *) and
Confirmation #2 (Grade 9).
Parents should be as
conscientious about their children attending Religious Ed. as they are about
sending their children to school each day. The sacrament of Holy
Communion and Reconciliation are a two year program starting in the 1st
grade. 2nd graders who have successfully completed this two year
program will receive these sacraments. In order to be properly
prepared for the most holy sacrament of Confirmation at the completion of
the Confirmation #2 class, our young people need to be knowledgeable about
their Catholic faith and this sacrament of Confirmation to help them to have
the strength and desire to live as Christians in this world as they enter
adulthood. The sacrament of Confirmation is the sacrament that
celebrates the presence of God's special strength and gifts in a baptized
person. Confirmation is a time when the faithful celebrate the
out-pouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Religious Ed. classes will be
held on Wednesdays for grades 1- 5 from 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm. A snack
will be provided for your child. Teen's grade 6 - 9 will be held on
Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Dinner will be included.
Home schooling is allowed on a case by case basis. Certain criteria
will have to be met. Further information on homeschooling can be
discussed by calling the parish office. Classes provided for older
students that have not received Eucharist and Reconciliation. These
classes are held on Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
I have been called to serve you
and your children. My goal is to provide quality Catholic Religious
Education as well as a safe and fun environment for them to thrive
spiritually.
Blessings,
Miss CeCe |
